I first meet Dave and Yvonne when I captured their neighbour's wedding 3 years ago. Yvonne contacted me last year and said she loved the photo's I captured for Georgina & Pete and asked if I would capture her special day! Of course, I said and then she told me it will be in Fiji!!! Internal happy dance then a resounding HELL YES was my answer!!!! I was pretty excited and honoured that Yvonne and Dave wished me to capture their special day in Fiji which was to be my first international wedding!!!
My wife and I travelled to Fiji a couple of days before the wedding day to scout out the Outrigger Beach Resort where the wedding was being held and to have a little explore of the local area as it was our first time to Fiji!! We meet with Dave & Yvonne the afternoon before the wedding to catch up and meet their wedding guests! They are such awesome down to earth people and their guests were so welcoming also and I knew their day was going to be amazing surrounded by their close friends and family!!
The big day arrived and a storm was forecast but the rain stayed away but the clouds stuck around which didn't bother me as it creates a dramatic sky! :) Yvonne looked stunning in her gown from Grace Loves Lace and Dave was looking very smart and relaxed in his beach wedding attire and pluggers!! The ceremony was held on the beach right in front of the resort which was racked and set up beautifully with an awesome view of the ocean. Loved the connection between Yvonne and Dave as they pulled funny faces at each other and laughed the whole afternoon! We had a great location shoot with the bridal party and our porters from the resort who transported us around the resort to the best locations via golf buggy! We had an amazing afternoon and finished with a backlit flash shot on the beach before heading to their reception venue at the resort. It was an amazing setup and the food and staff were awesome! There was a surprise that I was given the heads up about and it did not disappoint! Local fire dancers came to the reception and performed and it was outstanding!! Such an amazing privilege and experience to have captured Dave & Yvonne's special day in Fiji!! Congrats Mr & Mrs McNevin and thank you for choosing me and allowing my wife and I to be a part of your special day!! BULA!!!
